Hey its a new day today. A new set of opportunities and possibilities awaits. Each day is a new day. Every day is made by the Lord God creator of Heaven and Earth. I am happy and will rejoice in it. There is a mystery of every day we are alive here on the big blue marble known as planet Earth. I am glad I get to spend it as one of God's children. You know as the hymn says "life is worth the living becasuse HE lives" and He will walk and talk with me!
Man its HOT HOT HOT outside. Here in Chattanooga the temps are in the mid-seventies overnight and the triple digits I am blessed to have an indoor job however my wife's job requires her to take her kids outside in the morning when it is in the 80's when she goes out side and by the time she goes back in its in the 90's. When will it cool off? I am sooo over this heat. This reminds me that our older folks, pets and others who are heat sensitive need to be taken care of. Man I could go for a big drink of ice cold beverage right about now and I am in the air conditioned comfort of my house.
An earworm is a song that lingers in your head and it won't seem to go away easily. There is a new radio station in Chattanooga that plays the hits of the 60's, 70's and 80's...I grew up in the 70's and 80's and this station brings back tons of nostalga for me. One song they have played is recently and is my current earworm is the song "Moonlight Feels Right" by the group Starbuck. Here are the lyrics.
The wind blew some luck in my direction
I caught it in my hands today
I finally made a tricky French connection
You winked and gave me your o.k.
I'll take you on a trip beside the ocean
And drop the top at Chesapeake Bay
Ain't nothing like the sky to dose a potion
The moon'll send you on your way
Moonlight feels right
Moonlight feels right
We'll lay back and observe the constellations
And watch the moon smilin bright
I'll play the radio on southern stations
Cause southern belles are hell at night
You say you came to Baltimore from Ole Miss
Class of seven four gold ring
The eastern moon looks ready for a wet kiss
To make the tide rise again
We'll see the sun come up on Sunday morning
And watch it fade the moon away
I guess you know I'm giving you a warning
Cause me and moon are itching to play
I'll take you on a trip beside the ocean
And drop the top at Chesapeake Bay
Ain't nothin like the sky to dose a potion
The moon'll send you on your way
What happens at stamp club stays at stamp club....
Laura is a big paper crafter. She is working on a craft at her stamp club meeting. In addition to scrapbooking she also does stamping. Stamping is using artistic rubber stamps to create colorful effects on folded paper projects. There are other mediums she uses in stamping but tonight its paper.
I have two examples of how drivers from Alabama are a little scary. One day my wife and I were going to church and this minivan with Alabama tags passes us on the left on a double line street. I was going slow because there are speed humps and this van proceeded to pass me even though I was going the speed limit. Then another Alabama driver feels like he is in a bigger hurry than I am and he passes me kind of dangerously to get ahead of me to get somewhere in a hurry. I have nothing against Alabamians but their driving scares me. Back in January my wife and I were in Birmingham for her uncles funeral and there the speed limit just outside downtown on the interstate is like 75. Driving there is like the Talladega 500 everyday. I am glad I live in Tennessee where we at least drive somewhat sanely.
I have a VOX blog and a MySpace site. This social networking thing has everyone going to the web to get a presence on-line. Many of my friends have fun adjusting their MySpace layouts, adding videos and other eye candy. For those who are more interested in content, sharing thoughts and journaling VOX beats MySpace in the blogging arena. Both sites have their merits however for my interest in blogging VOX makes more sense. I prefer VOX in so many ways because its less cluttered with cyber rubbish. So if one wants to know what I am thinking...you gotta come here!
My church is having a all day VBS for the kids in the neighborhood. We started doing a single day of VBS last year because of the lack of kids we had 2 years ago. Our church has a heart to minister to our community. We hope to have a lot of kids tomorrow but the heat might be a challenge because its been hotter well you know. My wife and I will be in the opening ceremony. I will be the puppeteer and my wife will be the human in the equation. It is our honor to serve God in this way.
