This is our new hamster Maisy. We got her name from her dad who is Maddie and her mom who is Daisy. Put them together and you get Maisy! She came to our home for the first time on Tuesday and she is discovering her way cool cage and trying to run a hamster marathon in her high-tech wheel.  Like most hamsters she is adapting to her new surroundings after being separated from her mother and siblings. She was a bit scared at first however everyday that goes by she is feeling more and more comfortable. Mikey our dog who is her big brother has no comment.

This horse is in the equestrian stables at my alma mater Hiwassee College. I was there for a alumni meeting today and visited the stables and found this and two other horses hanging out in the heat. Fortunately he had some fans to circulate the air.

Hamster time!

The baby hamsters are exploring their caged world and driving their mom Daisy crazy. They have gotten bigger and have their eyes open now. I hope you enjoy these cute videos my wife shot on her camera phone.

This is a picture of our dog Mikey getting a bath. I got lucky on this shot because he was shaking off water and it is the best action photo I have ever taken.

These are the baby hamsters I mentioned in a earlier blog post. Maddie (the daddy) and Daisy (the mommy) are the proud parents. This video was shot my wife on her camera phone. They are active, furry and probably ready to hit the town!

This is a video of some ducks swimming on Chickamauga Lake at Chester Frost Park in Chattanooga, TN. I wanted to show nature in action and ducks swimming around is one of my favorite nature things.

This is a picture of Daisy who is a hamster at the child care center where my wife teaches 3-4 year olds. It is a strange story as to how these tiny hamsters were born. Apparently when Daisy and another hamster Maddie were bought they were thought to be both female.  However Maddie is actually a male hamster. For awhile the two hamsters had to share a cage and a result of that living arrangement is these baby hamsters being born. This was complete a surprise to everyone. So Maddie is actually a daddy.
