Today I returned to work after the great Memorial Day weekend. Having 3-1/2 days off helped me to serve God, rest, recreate and spend time with family. Work this week will be a challenge due to the fact I have to do 5 days work in only 4 days. Meeting my quota at work is important and hopefully that can be done. The Bible tells us in Philipians 4:13 that we can do all things through Him who strenghtens me. Updates to come. Have a great day!
Today in the United States we are celebrating Memorial Day. This is a day set aside to honor those who have served in the military for their sacrifices. Some of our men and women gave with their lives to keep our country free. Originally it honored Union soldiers after the American Civil War but later it expanded to honor World War I and other servicemen and women in any war or action.I thank God for all those who keep this country free. Those who have died were brothers, sisters, husbands, wives, fathers and mothers, sons and daughters. Without them our lives would be different. I also extend a thought of remembrance to Police, Firefighters and Paramedics for keeping our towns safe and cared for.
On Wednesday mornings I meet with two friends from Church. It is a covenant group in which we do a study on a book, discuss our lives in Christ and pray for each other, our families and our church. One thing that came out of today's session is that I need to start journaling daily. Since I am a blogger it only made sense to share my journey with the world. I belive that Christianity is a religion based on the acceptance of Jesus as the risen savior and son of God but also it is a community of people who share a common journey. It is my prayer that I can help somone feel that they are not alone in their Christian walk.
Some posts will be lengthy but others will be like two sentences long. Its like what Barbara Arwood a college professor of mine at Hiwassee College once said that doing a research paper is like a rope that each will have a certain length. Of course there will be other things I will post about, the usual geeky sort of faire that I am known for too. Well I must be signing off for now. Have a great day.
